Commune of Buttons Syrah | Adelaide Hills, SA | 2019

A cool climate, savoury Syrah with heaps of character and interest. On the nose mulberries, red fruit and a touch of funk bewitches your senses whilst orange rind, eucalypt, blue fruits and fennel seduce your palate. It’s fresh and refined with a touch of fizz that titillates your tongue on the first sip before dissipating as it opens up. A touch of Viognier gives the wine lift whilst a fine thread of tannin weaves through your mouth with minerality and a kick of spice. Yum.

Mood: When you are feeling audacious and want a vibrant wine that gets the cogs turning.

Grass Roots and Chi: Siblings Jasper and Sophie created ‘Commune of Buttons’ after converting their family’s vineyards to organic and biodynamic practices in 2012. Their wine philosophy has been shaped by the pioneers in the natural wine movement where good old-fashioned hard work in the vineyard (without the use of chemicals) pays off. In the winery they are hands off and bottle their juice without fining or filtering, creating unique and quirky wines with a lot of personality.

Drink now and until 2023. Vegan Friendly.
